Eat and stay around Reeth and Swaledale
Village pubs on the green, country inns in the dale and walker-friendly stays farther west.
Swaledale’s food and accommodation make most sense when you think in terms of where you want to wake up, walk and finish the day.
Stay on Reeth Green
The Burgoyne, The Black Bull, The Buck and The Kings Arms keep you within walking distance of the village centre and its evening life.
Follow the dale west
The Punch Bowl at Low Row and the CB Inn in Arkengarthdale work as destination inns as much as simple pub stops.
Use the upper dale for walking
Muker’s Farmers Arms is community-owned, while Kearton at Thwaite and Keld Lodge provide indoor anchors farther west.
Go higher for something different
Tan Hill Inn turns the pub itself into the destination and can anchor a drive or a more ambitious day from Upper Swaledale.
